Started from an idea one could almost infinitely layer music using two cassette decks, the studio has been one man's obsession since the mid-'80s. Changing along with the cutting-edge recording techniques that became affordable, the studio went through reel-to-reel, and hybrid setups to become a fully digital, computer-based mini powerhouse. From Falls Church, VA to Herndon, the big changes and investments happened. While in Herndon, it was called Barkin' Beaver Studio, and was a purpose-built project studio with a highly controlled acoustic environment.
Now in Berryville, VA, the same equipment has moved to a slightly smaller space. The rates are $40/hr. for recording, $40/hr. for mixing, producing, mastering, and album artwork production. CD copies are $5 each, or $10 each in jewel cases with album artwork.
